We’ve recently been consulting with Wonky.Space and The National Trust on the Greening Project at Evelyn Ward, Deptford. The skatepark and Folkestone Gardens are in Evelyn Ward and they want to know how the space can be improved.
On Saturday 24th September the National Trust will be sharing some early concepts of how Folkestone Gardens can be improved, and we will be running another Community Clean Up and Free Beginner Skate Lesson (currently 4 lesson places still available). We have local cleaning company Methley and Daughters sponsoring the Clean Up. The Progressing Skateboard Lesson is running as per usual at 11am.
The key aspects of the plan are Greening; there are some amazing examples of how sympathetic landscaping and planting can enhance the experience of riding a skatepark, and connectivity; how can the surrounding area be improved to better facilitate travelling with a skateboard or skates?
The National Trust are interested in hearing feedback from local people who currently use the space, so it’s important that you are represented. We look forward to seeing you.
