Deptford Beginner Skateboard Lesson

A beginner skateboard lesson at Folkestone Gardens Skatepark in Deptford.

How does it work?

1. Book your lesson
2. Setup access to the Learning App (instructions here) using the code in your confirmation email
3. Before your lesson review the Cornerstone Skills and input your Stance: Regular or Goofy; into the App so we can hit the ground rolling in the lesson
4. Join the lesson and learn some skills
5. Learnt The Drop in?
   • No; practice some more!
   • Yes; You’re ready to do your Beginner Grading! and graduate to the Progressing Group

Our skateboard instructors are fully insured and enhanced DBS checked.

What should we wear for our beginner skateboard lesson?

Please wear skateboard shoes or soft-soled shoes, no sandals/crocs or you will not be able to join the lesson. Wear clothes you don’t mind getting a little scuffed or dusty..

My 6-year-old boy loves attending the skateboard club at Copeland Park in Peckham! The coaches are fantastic — super patient, encouraging, and passionate about teaching. It’s been amazing to see his confidence grow with every session. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the kids always have a great time while learning new tricks and improving their skills.A special shoutout to Stewart, whose communication and support have been outstanding. He’s always quick to respond to my emails and is incredibly helpful with any questions I have. It’s clear he genuinely cares about the kids and their experience at the club.Copeland Park is a great spot for the club, with good space and a fun community vibe. I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for an active and enjoyable activity for their child!

My son age six and half first time skate boarding, now three lessons in and really enjoying it. Great space, great teachers and they have pads and boards on site.

All the tutors are really great with the kids, their patience and their gentle style of teaching is perfect. Lessons are safe, inspiring and they adapt really well to each child's needs. Couldn't recommend enough.

The group lessons at Peckham HQ are amazing, the class sizes are small, the teachers are all very kind, patient and knowledgable. Our 5 yr old has been attending for a couple of months and is learning so quickly. We always recommend School of Skate to everyone we know!
